Statistical Analysis of Stone Mastic Asphalt Incorporating Kenaf Fibre

نویسندگان

چکیده

Stone mastic asphalt consists of two components coarse aggregate and bitumen-filled mortar (bituminous blend, filler, stabilizing additives like cellulosic or mineral fibers). Such a form hot mix (SMA) was first developed in Germany the mid-1960s to cope with corrosion ribbed wheel destruction. The mixture then known as stone asphalt, which not only immune wheels but also has strong resistance against rutting. One most significant problems when constructing pavement is permanent deformation. By load traffic strain tires, much irreversible deformation happens ground. According previous study, researchers have stated that kenaf fiber's physical strength thermal characteristics are superior compared other forms natural fiber polymer composites, therefore deemed desirable applicant for elevated-performance composite materials. Thus, aim this study assess mechanical performance incorporating by developing regression model. A set data SMA various percentages were assessed through statistical analysis Minitab 19 using resilient modulus dependant variable model accumulated from dynamic creep test second models showed positive impact an additive mixture. For more future studies, it recommended analyze effect proportions bitumen modification towards will render satisfactory during service.

Stone mastic asphalt: assessing the effect of cellulose fibre additives

& Currently, in the UK, there is considerable interest in the fact that a German bituminous surfacing mixture known as stone mastic asphalt may possess levels of in-service performance that resist the growing incidence of premature failure experienced by traditional materials such as hot rolled asphalt. A high stone content grading requires the use of a stabilizing additive to ensure long-term ...

Stone Mastic Asphalt Pavement Technology for the New Millennium

Since the 1960s, Stone Mastic Asphalt (SMA) pavement surfaces have been used successfully in Germany on heavily trafficked roads. Because of its excellent performance characteristics, road authorities in Germany as well as major European Countries quickly adopted SMA as a standard wearing course. As a consequence of an asphalt study tour in Europe of an American delegation in 1990, SMA test sec...

Estimation the Fatigue Number of Stone Mastic Asphalt Mixtures Modified with Nano SiO2 and Nano TiO2

Asphalt modification/reinforcement has received considerable attention as viable solutions to enhance flexible pavement performance. This is mainly prompted by the unsatisfactory performance of traditional road materials exposed to dramatic increases and changes in traffic patterns. This paper presents the evaluation of fatigue behaviour of nano reinforced Stone Mastic Asphalt mixtures. Fatigue...

Macroscopic constitutive law for Mastic Asphalt Mixtures from multiscale modeling

A well established framework of an uncoupled hierarchical modeling approach is adopted here for the prediction of macroscopic material parameters of the Generalized Leonov (GL) constitutive model intended for the analysis of flexible pavements at both moderate and elevated temperature regimes. To that end, a recently introduced concept of a statistically equivalent periodic unit cell (SEPUC) is...
